comprising sailing boat, poem and wall texts.
The room installation Sailing Dinghy encapsulates the artist’s passion and affection for ships and the sea. It consists of a boat used by Ian Hamilton Finlay himself, accompanied by a poem which evokes its movement. Much of his early poetry concerns sailing and fishing boats.
