On 5 June 2014 the artist Roger Ackling has died, aged 66, after suffering a long period from motor neuron disease. The artist Roger Ackling was a teacher at Chelsea college of Art from the early eighties until 2012. He was living with his wife Sylvia near Holt in Norfolk. He was very good friends of Trevor Sutton, Carol Robertson, Hamish Fulton, Alan Charlton, Richard Long and many colleagues of Chelsea College. His friend Richard Long wrote an orbituary in the Independent:

And his friend and colleague Chris Yetton in the Guardian:

I had the honour and pleasure to meet Roger on several occasions, visiting the Acklings in Norfolk and collaborated with Roger on a publication, an edition and to have organised 3 exhibitions with him.
