Making Urban Nature is a book with examples about nature-inclusive designing in European cities. It calls for the integration of the living conditions found in nature in the designs of buildings and outdoor spaces and includes practical examples and design suggestions.
One of the projects in the book is Tree Museum Wateringse Veld, The Hague, by heman de vries for which I supplied a photograph in the book. Other projects in this book are Brown Roof Laban Dance Center, London, by Herzog & De Meuron and Vogt Landscape Architects, Eden Bio, Paris by Maison Éduard François and Crinkle Crankle Wall Distripark Eemhaven, Rotterdam by Krijn Giezen & Roel Bakker.

Krijn Giezen – Chateau de Magny

Château de Magny – Magny-en-Bessin, Normandy.
Visit to Krijn and Martina Giezen in August 1998. Krijn and Martina bought this castle in the eighties. They worked with artists in this place and made installations with a.o. Luc Deleu and John Körmeling. Martina Giezen worked with Ian Hamilton Finlay (she was one of the Saint-Just Vigilantes) and published editions of Richard Long, Luc Deleu and Jean Le Gac and was publisher of MW Magazine. The artist Krijn Giezen was one of my teachers at the Academy of Art in 's-Hertogenbosch. I published with Peninsula two prints by Krijn Giezen.
