Paradise Circus, made in 1973, is the first painting Trevor Sutton completed after leaving art school: this all-black painting is the earliest work selected from an archive created over the last four decades, with some pieces exhibited for the first time. His installation sets out to specifically link visual connections between new work and the work of previous decades: less a retrospective, more an active development of ideas.
